My name is Dustin Burkes-Larranaga. I am an illustrator and visual development artist with my BFA in Illustration from CSU Long Beach. I currently work freelance in the entertainment field, specializing in pre-production work and the conceptualizing of stories.
For as long as I can remember, I have been chasing down the dream of becoming a professional illustrator. Art is my driving force and I am constantly propelled by the ideas of imagination and creativity. I love creating new faces, places, worlds, creatures and ideas. I consistently strive to create characters that pop off the screen and environments that transport the viewer into new worlds. I pride myself on being able to meet deadlines on projects both professional and personal, as well as the ability to thrive in either an independent or team oriented environment. As an illustrator, I am always an avid student and practitioner of the arts and I feel like there is never enough to learn. I feel as confident working digitally as I do with many formal forms of art including: pencil/charcoal, pen/ink, watercolor/gouache, oils/acrylic paints, colored pencil. I have been practicing the arts my entire life with teachings and lessons ranging from classical figure drawing to character design and cartooning. Please feel free to take a look at some of the works i have accomplished up until this point of my life. I am currently seeking and encourage any companies or individuals to be in contact with me regarding any in-house or freelance work opportunities. Just as well, if you have any comments, questions, suggestions or inquiries of any kind, please don't hesitate to let me know. Enjoy! |
